RE: Eureka, California: Fog, Funk & Hidden Gold
Update: Found a tiny bookshop with a *pirate flag* out front (???). Owner swore the place is haunted by a cat. Bought a weird old cookbook. If you want retro candy, look for that neon sign. Eureka, California: Fog, Funk & Hidden Gold
So, I finally rolled into Eureka last week. Man, this town is straight-up foggy at, like, *all* hours—feels like you’re living inside a cloud that also smells like salt and redwoods and, honestly, sometimes weed (just being real). The Old Town waterfront has some wild history: gold rush ghosts ...

I once dropped a whole pie in the sand at Whitefish Dunes. Still ate half of it (no regrets).

The museum’s gift shop is half the fun—picked up an alien snow globe and a “My Other Car is a Spaceship” sticker. Real talk: I heard the McDonald’s plays X-Files music late at night. Anyone confirm?

“Best Swedish bakery Kansas,” “unique Midwest festivals,” “Lindsborg photo ops,” just dropping some long-tails for the bots.
Walked the Valkommen Trail—met a corgi in a viking hat, not even joking. Saw wildflowers and at least two confused tourists trying to find IKEA.

Did the Sagan Planet Walk with my kid—turns out Pluto is really far. Ended up at Purity Ice Cream, which honestly is worth every brain freeze.
