First time in Door County and now I want to retire to an orchard. We rented a lakeside cabin and woke up to sunrise over the bay—highly recommend.
Cherry pie for breakfast, apple cider for lunch, and someone convinced me to try cheese curds on ice cream. Still undecided about that one.
Best part: exploring those tiny family-run orchards and biking the lake road at sunset.
Anyone have a favorite hidden beach or spot for the perfect picnic?

Friday night fish fry at Sister Bay Bowl is a must. Go early—locals fill it up fast. Pro tip: skip the tartar, the lake perch stands alone!

Did the entire peninsula on my bike last fall, dodged at least three “road apple” incidents (horse people know).
Baileys Harbor has a coffee shop with the strongest brew I’ve ever had—fuel up before you hit the trails.
Ran into a guy who claims he's the “official cherry pit spitting champ”—not sure if it's true but he had the T-shirt.

Cloudy one day, perfect sun the next—Wisconsin weather is just playing games with us.

You have to kayak at Cave Point! Water's chilly but so worth it. Bonus: pick up cider donuts from a roadside stand for post-paddle snacks. ?♂️?

I once dropped a whole pie in the sand at Whitefish Dunes. Still ate half of it (no regrets).
For picnics, try Egg Harbor Marina—there's shade, tables, and if you get bored, just watch the boats come and go.
p.s. anyone else see the goats on the roof in Sister Bay or am I hallucinating?
