El Paso, Texas: Sun City

Bigger, louder, weirder. Home of cow skulls, ghost towns, and highways that whisper.

El Paso, Texas: Sun City Adventures

Post by NorDakNomad »

Landed in El Paso for the weekend and got ambushed by flavor—street tacos on every corner and everyone’s actually friendly.

Hiked the Franklin Mountains for sunrise. Pro tip: bring extra water. The views are wild, and so are the javelinas (don’t ask me how I found out).

Anyone have favorite food spots or hidden mural alleys? Also: What’s the secret to surviving the Texas sun?!

Tried Chico’s Tacos because everyone said “you gotta”—still not sure what happened. But I’d go again.

Go downtown for murals. Sunscreen = survival.

Javelinas are just spicy pigs, right? ?

Sunset at Scenic Drive—don’t miss it.

Used to think El Paso was just “the pass” until I spent a night bar-hopping near UTEP—epic music, even better people-watching.

Got lost looking for a taco stand, ended up at a late-night bakery instead. Zero regrets.

If you’re up for a drive, Hueco Tanks is surreal—don’t forget your permit!
